Now that all of the iPhone hype is over (oh wait… it isn’t… oh well), attention has been turned to the iPhone 2.1 Software Update - surprise surprise! This update is supposed to make the iPhone 3G have less spazzy moments, and even COPY AND PASTE!!!!!!! Deep down in the code is supposedly a hint towards a new iPod Touch Model… Here’s the hint broken down for you:
The iPhone 2.0 Software Update has the iPhone 3G as iPhone1,2 and the Old iPhone as iPhone1,1. In comparison is the Current iPod Touch as iPod1,1 which has been replaced with a new line called iPod 2,1. It is approaching that iPod Season (Mid-August to September) so we will heep a close eye on this one.
2.1 has lots of bugs. Check the apple support forums for them as they come in. Pathetic testing by apple again, some of these are basic errors. People cannot get into their audiobook lists, podcasts play in the wrong order, icons are now blurry, whizzing through lists and coverflow are now jerky.
