Working on a new look for CrunchyMunchkin. Feel free to take a look around!

I had the chance to take a look at the new iPod Nano (Yes, in every color…), and I must say that it is “Rockalicious!” The new Curved Design, Genius Playlists & Accelerometer are a perfect fit for the Nano. It is available in every color for $149.99 (8 GB) & $199.99 (16 GB). Design

The 4th Generation iPod Nano has decided to look like it’s older brother → Tall & Skinny. This was actually the preferred design by most reviewers, but I can’t help but think that some (including me) will miss the fatty. The New Nano does sport an all aluminum casing, glass screen and a new curved body. The 4th-Gen Nano meets Apple’s requirements for reducing environmental impact:

  • Arsenic-free glass
  • Brominated flame retardant-free
  • Mercury-free
  • PVC-free
  • Highly recyclable aluminum enclosure

Genius Playlists

Genius Playlists are simply amazing! I have been using it ever since I downloaded the new iTunes… It collects information from  the iTunes Store like Ratings, Popularity and Similar Purchases as well as search other Genius Users that opted-into the service to create a playlists of songs that just go great together. Another cool feature of the Genius Playlist Creator is the ability to show you songs that would compliment the song you are listening to (Not on the Nano, but through iTunes). Even cooler it the fact that it is anonymous!

Accelerometer

Apple has done some innovative things with the Accelerometer this time around in the iPod Nano. Expected was the ability to turn the Nano to the side in order to view your music in CoverFlow or Pictures and Video in Landscape, but the coolest thing is it’s “Shake to Shuffle” Feature. While the iPod Nano is turned on and not locked, shake it vigorously… this will enable ”Shake to Shuffle” which simply shuffles your music and goes to the next song!
